Get a Meta Ad

GET/v1/ads/meta/{library_id}

One Meta Ad by its Ad Library id, trimmed like a search result, with as_of (when it was last observed in the library). Served from our stored copy when observed under 6 hours ago; otherwise read live, stored, and given a Snapshot. An Ad Meta no longer shows is still served from our stored copy with removed_from_library: true, at the same price. An id that was never stored here and is not in the library is not_found (404) and nothing is charged. If the library cannot be reached the Run fails with source_unavailable and nothing is charged. analyze=true adds Ad analysis (the video set for a video Ad, the image set for an image or carousel Ad), computed once per Ad and version from our archived media with the ad copy as context; when it must be computed expect a 202 and poll the Run, and if it fails the Run fails and nothing is charged. analysis already stored rides along on every lookup, free.

Open in Playground(no API Key needed)

Price

3 credits, read live or from our stored copy (observed under 6 h ago, or removed from the library). With analyze=true, plus 20 credits, whether the analysis is computed or already stored.

Supports estimate=true: the reply is the price in Credits and whether it would be cached, with no Run created and nothing charged.

A cached result costs the same as a fresh one; cached says which you got.

Parameters

NameInTypeRequiredDefaultDescription
library_idpathstringRequired—The Meta Ad Library id: the number in facebook.com/ads/library/?id=....
analyzequerystringone of true, falseOptional—true to add Ad analysis: 20 credits, computed or already stored.
waitqueryintegermin 0; max 120Optional30Seconds to hold the response open before handing back a running Run to poll. Default 30, max 120. A POST may send it in the body instead; given in both places with different values it is a 400.
estimatequerybooleanOptional—true returns { estimate_credits, cached } computed from what is already stored, and creates no Run. Nothing is charged. When a source the call would read is unavailable and the answer is not served from cache, the estimate adds unavailable, the { platform, capability } parts it cannot reach, or answers 503 source_unavailable when it can reach none. Only true or false; anything else is a 400. A POST may send it in the body instead; given in both places with different values it is a 400.
Idempotency-KeyheaderstringOptional—1-255 printable ASCII characters. Replaying this key with the same payload returns the original Run (202 while it is still running); a different payload, or a different operation, is a 409 idempotency_conflict.

Responses

200 OK

The Run finished inside the wait budget: { run, result }. The example is an Ad Meta has removed, served from our stored copy at the same price as a live read.

503 Service Unavailable

source_unavailable: every source this Run reads failed or is switched off. The Run fails uncharged, with its envelope alongside; endpoints names the source. Retry later rather than treating it as empty.

This call creates a Run. With wait it holds the response open until the Run finishes or the wait runs out, then answers with the finished result or 202 and the running Run. Poll GET /v1/runs/{id} until it settles; re-reading a Run is free.

  • Runs: How a call becomes a Run, waiting inline, polling and free re-reads.
  • Pricing and estimates: Credits, estimates and why a cached result costs the same as a fresh one.
  • Ads: Searching Meta's Ad Library with its filters, what each Ad carries, the winner Score, Ad analysis, what is stored, and how an ad search is priced.
