How does the random comment picker choose a winner?

We load the video's public comments, apply your filters (one entry per user, must tag friends, must contain a keyword), then draw winners at random in your browser using its cryptographic random number generator. Every eligible comment has the same chance of winning.

Which videos does it work with?

Public TikTok videos (including vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links), Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Paste the link to a single video.

How many comments does it load?

Up to 500 top-level comments per video. Instagram shows only a preview of a Reel's comments to visitors who aren't logged in, so for Reels we load that preview, which is usually the first few dozen comments. Replies to comments are not included.

Can I re-roll the winners?

Yes. Re-rolling draws again from the comments already loaded, so it is instant and does not use another free lookup.

Can I export the comments to Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Download the loaded comments as a CSV file with the username, comment text, likes and date, then open it in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.

Is the comment picker free?

Yes. You get 5 free lookups a day, shared across all our free tools, with no signup. A video someone loaded in the last hour loads again without using a lookup.

Methodology

We read the video's public top-level comments straight from the platform through our own data pipeline, up to 500 per video. Instagram only shows a preview of a Reel's comments to logged-out visitors, so for Reels the list is that preview. Filters run first, then the one-entry-per- user rule keeps each user's first qualifying comment. Winners are drawn in your browser with its cryptographic random number generator, so every eligible comment has the same chance.
