Creative and hooks hub

Creative strategy with an AI agent

By . Published 1 November 2026. Updated .

Creative strategy means choosing what goes into the next round of content and Ads: which hook, which format, which angle, and for which audience. Creative analytics is the evidence for those choices: which Videos and Ads did well, and what they had in common.

An AI agent can do much of the analytics, but only if it reads real Videos and Ads. This hub shows how to connect your Assistant to that data, what it can measure, a real Research Digest and Ad search from our own account, and the guides that go deeper on hooks, transcripts, UGC and outlier Videos.

What changes when your Assistant reads real data

Ask an Assistant for hook ideas with no data and you get hooks that sound right but were never tested. It cannot see this week's Videos, it does not know which ones beat their Creator's usual reach, and it has no way to tell which competitor Ads are still running.

Once it is connected to Video and Ad data, the Assistant works from Videos it has analysed: the opening line, the visual hook, the format, the on-screen text, the call to action, the transcript and the comments. It can count which patterns show up in the Videos that did well and which show up in the ones that did not.

You still decide what to test. The Assistant collects the Videos and Ads, sorts them and writes first drafts, which is the part a strategist would otherwise do by hand.

Creative analytics your Assistant can run

These are the signals that come back from ShortsIntel, where each one comes from, and the question it answers.

A creative strategy loop with your Assistant

One way to run a round of creative strategy, from niche to brief. Each step is a request you type in plain language. Paid steps can quote their price first if you ask for an estimate.

  1. Research the niche

Start with one Research. It searches your Platforms, ranks every Video by how far it beat its Creator's usual reach, analyses the shortlist and returns a Digest of themes, hooks, formats and gaps. It costs 1,036 credits for up to 50 analysed Videos, and reading it again later is free.

Research pet product videos for dog and cat owners on TikTok and give me the Digest.
  2. Read the lift tables

Ask which hook types and formats beat the niche median, and by how much. Treat any group marked low confidence, usually one or two Videos, as a lead to test rather than a rule.

From that Research, which hook types and formats beat the median, and which ones only have one or two Videos behind them?
  3. Check the outliers

On TikTok, a Score compares a Video with its Creator's own median views, for 9 credits per Video. That separates a format that works from a Creator who is simply large.

Score the top five TikToks from that Research against their Creators' usual reach.
  4. Pull competitor Ads

Search the Meta Ad Library for the same category and sort by how long each Ad has run. Meta Ad search costs 1 credit per Ad delivered.

Find US Meta Ads for dog food that have run longest, and summarise their hooks, offers and calls to action.
  5. Write the briefs

Ask for briefs that cite the Videos and Ads they came from, so anyone on the team can check the evidence. Each brief should name the hook, the format, the angle and the gap it answers.

Write three creative briefs from this Research and these Ads. Quote the hook each one borrows and link the source Video or Ad.
  6. Track what moves

Set a Tracker on a competitor Creator, Hashtag, Sound, Keyword or Advertiser and your Assistant gets a Change Report when something new takes off. A daily cycle costs 6 credits per Creator or 30 credits per Advertiser.

Track this competitor's Meta Ads and tell me when they launch new variants: (paste an Advertiser link)

Real output: a Research Digest and an Ad search

Both samples come from our own account on the day this guide was written, trimmed to fit. The Research analysed 50 TikTok Videos. In the lift tables, views_lift is a group's median views divided by the median of all 50 Videos (67,702 views). The Ad search returned 50 US Meta Ads; two are shown.

What a strategist takes from that output

In the pet products Research, plain demonstrations were the most common hook (15 Videos) and did worst, at 0.41 times the niche median. Problem hooks had 12 Videos at 2.42 times. That is a test worth running: open on the owner's problem before showing the product.

Curiosity hooks show the biggest lift, but four Videos with millions of views can pull a median a long way. Before you brief a round of curiosity hooks, Score those Videos against their Creators' usual reach.

Each comment gap can become a brief. Owners asked how to get a scared dog to accept a grooming vacuum, and no Video in the sample showed it.

In the Ad search, both Ads have run for about a year or longer, and advertisers seldom keep paying for an Ad that does not sell, so days running is the first thing to check. Their winner scores are marked low confidence because there is only one snapshot so far. Variants added can only be counted once an Advertiser has been seen more than once, which is what an Advertiser Tracker does.

Data limits

Data limits for creative research

  • YouTube Creator data covers Shorts only, not long-form uploads. Video analysis takes YouTube Videos up to 10 minutes long.
  • The TikTok Ad Library covers Ads shown in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey only.
  • Sounds are TikTok only. Comparing a Video with its Creator's usual reach works on every Platform through get_creator; only score_video, which scores one Video on demand, is TikTok only.
  • Hashtags are TikTok and Instagram only.
  • Facebook Video search is opt-in and best effort. Instagram and Facebook Keyword search are best effort too.
  • Refreshing a Research is TikTok only.
  • Creator Trackers run on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, not YouTube.

What it costs

Each request that does work is a Run, paid from a prepaid Balance of Credits at 1,000 credits per US dollar. There is no subscription and no seat fee. A Research costs 1,036 credits for up to 50 analysed Videos, a single Video analysis 23 credits, a transcript on its own 10 credits, and a TikTok Score 9 credits. New accounts get 1,000 credits free, valid for 90 days. A Run that fails costs nothing, and a partial one is charged only for what finished. Every price is on the pricing page.

For one Video's script without an account, the free TikTok transcript tool and the free video transcript generator work in the browser.

Creative and hooks guides

Questions

What is creative strategy?
Creative strategy is deciding what goes into your next Videos and Ads: the hooks, formats, angles and offers, and the audience each one is for. A creative strategist bases those choices on what has worked in the niche and in past tests.
What is creative analytics?
Creative analytics is measuring which creative choices go with better results. For short video that means comparing hook types, formats, lengths and calls to action across many Videos, and checking which competitor Ads stay live the longest.
Can an AI agent do creative strategy?
It can do the research and the first drafts: gather Videos and Ads, analyse their hooks and formats, count what the winners share and write briefs that cite their sources. It needs real data to do that well, and a person still decides what to test.
Which Platforms does this cover?
TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and long-form Videos up to 10 minutes, Facebook, the Meta Ad Library and the TikTok Ad Library. Scores that compare a Video with its Creator's usual reach cover Videos under 30 days old on every Platform, through a Creator lookup.
Do I need to code?
No. In Claude.ai and ChatGPT you add a connector and sign in, then ask in plain language. Claude Code, Codex and Cursor take one command or one click. Developers can use the REST API instead.
How fresh is the data?
Every Research and search is dated with the moment its data was read, and you can run a new one whenever you want a fresh read. The samples on this page were captured on 2026-11-01.
