TikTok ad examples, broken down by hook, format and offer

By . Published 1 November 2026. Updated .

These are six TikTok Ads we pulled from the TikTok Ad Library on 1 November 2026 through the ShortsIntel API. They cover a sneaker brand, a food brand, a skincare app, a language app, a nutrition app and a mobile game.

Each one is broken down by its hook, its format and its offer, using only what the library publishes about the Ad. Each links to its library entry so you can watch the video yourself. The competitor ad research hub covers the wider method, and every guide on this site is listed on the guides page.

How to read these breakdowns

A TikTok Ad Library entry is thin. A search returns the Ad's text, its media, the Advertiser's name, the first and last day it was shown and a reach band. Reading one Ad's details adds the call to action, the campaign objective, the landing page, the TikTok account that ran it and the targeting: countries, ages, genders and impressions per country.

The library does not describe what happens in the video, and ShortsIntel does not analyse a TikTok Ad from a search or detail read. So each breakdown below reads the hook from the Ad's text, the format from its media and objective, and the offer from its call to action and landing page. To judge the first seconds of the video, open the library entry and watch it.

  • Hook: the Ad's text, which TikTok shows over or under the video.
  • Format: video or image, the campaign objective, and how many near-identical Ads the Advertiser ran.
  • Offer: the call to action, where the click goes, and any claim in the text.
  • Reach: the library's impressions band, plus the run dates and targeting.

1. Salomon: a brand name and a product

SALOMON SAS ran this video Ad in the UK from 15 to 31 October 2026. It reached 10K to 100K impressions, the most of any Ad on this page, with 20K impressions counted in Great Britain. The same search returned three other Salomon sneaker Ads with the same text. Each ran for one to four days and stayed under 1K impressions. The one that ran longest also reached the most people.

The landing page link goes to the sportstyle collection on salomon.com, and its tracking tags name a conversion campaign. The Ad ran from the @salomon TikTok account, which had 387.6K followers when we read it. See the library entry.

  • Hook: "Salomon sneakers". Only the brand and the product, so the video has to do the work.
  • Format: video, targeted at all ages from 13 up. The library lists no call to action or objective for this Ad.
  • Offer: the sneaker collection page. No price or discount in the text.

2. Nu protein: a claim stacked with numbers

Nu protein foods limited ran this image Ad in the UK from 20 to 26 October 2026. It reached 1K to 10K impressions, 3K of them in Great Britain, and targeted adults 18 and over. The link goes to nuprotein.com. The Ad ran from a verified TikTok account, @nuprotein, which had 47 followers, so the reach did not come from an existing following. See the library entry.

  • Hook: "THE UK'S FIRST BEEF PROTEIN BAR! Just 3 ingredients. 25g Protein. ZERO SUGAR. ZERO CARBS. Real food." A first-of-its-kind claim, then four short facts a viewer can check on the pack.
  • Format: a single image with no video, the only image Ad on this page.
  • Offer: the product itself, sold on what is in it. No discount and no call to action listed.

3. A skincare app: personalisation as the promise

Digital Skincare Inc. ran this video Ad from 21 to 25 October 2026 across 27 countries, including Great Britain, Turkey and Switzerland, targeting adults 18 and over. It stayed under 1K impressions. The campaign objective is Sales and the call to action is "Apply now".

The skincare search returned 12 Ads from this Advertiser, all with the same text, first shown between 20 and 31 October. That pattern points to many versions of one Ad running at once. The link goes to an "interview" subdomain of lovi.care, which suggests a questionnaire before the sale; open it to check. The Ad ran from @loviskincare. See the library entry.

  • Hook: "Personalized Skincare Plan". It promises a plan made for the viewer.
  • Format: video, with at least 12 versions on the search page in 12 days.
  • Offer: an application, using "Apply now" instead of "Shop now", which frames the plan as something you qualify for.

4. A language app: free and AI in four words

TRIPSOFT LIMITED ran this video Ad from 14 to 16 August 2026 in 29 countries, targeting adults 18 and over, with impressions under 1K. The objective is App promotion and the call to action is "Download it". The search returned nine Ads from this Advertiser with the same text, first shown between 14 and 27 August. The Ad ran from @appyouneedd (display name App You Need), a verified account with 90.1K followers. See the library entry.

  • Hook: "Free AI Language App". It puts the price and the technology first, in four words.
  • Format: video, App promotion objective, nine versions in two weeks.
  • Offer: a free download. The library lists no landing page for this Ad.

5. A nutrition app: narrow targeting

Caloree App ran this video Ad for one day, 7 September 2026, in Spain, France, Ireland, Italy and Portugal. It targeted women aged 35 to 54 only, the narrowest targeting on this page, and stayed under 1K impressions. The library puts the audience it could reach at 19.9M to 24.3M people. The objective is Lead generation, the call to action is "Install now" and the link goes to a web domain, not an app store. See the library entry.

  • Hook: "Nutrition & Meal Scanner". It names what the app does, with no claim.
  • Format: video, Lead generation objective, one day of delivery.
  • Offer: an install, sent through a web page first.

6. A mobile game: a superlative and 11 copies

VOODOO ran this video Ad from 6 to 11 August 2026 in 27 countries, targeting adults 18 and over, with impressions under 1K. The objective is App promotion and the call to action is "Go to App Store". The mobile game search returned 11 Ads from VOODOO with the same text, first shown between 5 and 23 August. The Ad ran from the TikTok account @draftshowdown1. See the library entry.

  • Hook: "The best mobile game". A plain superlative, with the gameplay left to the video.
  • Format: video, App promotion objective, 11 versions over three weeks.
  • Offer: an install from the App Store.

What the six have in common

Six Ads is a small set, so treat these as observations to test on your own category.

  • Five of the six hooks are two to four words long. The text names the product or the promise and leaves the rest to the video.
  • Three Advertisers ran 9 to 12 Ads with identical text within a few weeks. The text stayed fixed, so whatever they tested was in the video or the targeting.
  • The call to action matches the objective. The App promotion Ads say Download it or Go to App Store, the Sales Ad says Apply now, and the two UK consumer brands list none.
  • Four of the six stayed under 1K impressions. In the Salomon set the Ad that ran longest also reached the most, so start with the longest-running version when you study an Advertiser.

Data limits

Data limits for TikTok Ad examples

  • The TikTok Ad Library covers Ads shown in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey only. An Ad that ran only in the US is not in it, so none of these examples is a US-only campaign.
  • The library publishes impressions as bands and no spend, clicks or sales. Run dates and reach bands are the only performance signals.
  • A search returns the Ad's text but no call to action or objective. Those come from reading the Ad's details, and some detail reads come back mostly empty: one protein bar Ad we read returned no text, objective or impressions.
  • Ad analysis is not available on a TikTok Ad search or detail read. It runs on Meta Ads, and on new TikTok Ads that an Advertiser Tracker finds when analysis is on. To judge any other TikTok Ad's video, watch it on its library entry.
  • Keyword searches match loosely, and the library reported a total of 5,000 for every search we ran. A search page is a sample of the category.

What the API returned for one of these Ads

Real responses from our own account for the language app Ad, trimmed. The search returned 9 Ads for 3 credits; reading one Ad's details cost 3 credits. Note that the search shows no call to action, and the detail read adds it with the objective, targeting and account.

How to pull your own TikTok Ad examples

You can collect examples like these for your own category by asking an Assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT. It uses the search_ads tool to search the library and get_ad to read one Ad's details.

  1. Connect your Assistant to ShortsIntel

Add the ShortsIntel MCP server once. The connect steps further down this page cover each Assistant. No API key is needed.

  2. Search the TikTok Ad Library for your category

Name a product category or a brand. Each search returns one page of Ads for 3 credits.

Search the TikTok Ad Library for protein bar Ads and list each Advertiser, the Ad text, the first and last day shown and the reach band.
  3. Read the details of the Ads worth studying

Pick the Ads that ran longest or reached the most, and have the Assistant read each one. A detail read costs 3 credits and adds the call to action, objective, landing page and targeting.

Read the details of the three Ads with the highest reach. For each, give me the call to action, objective, landing page, countries and ages.
  4. Break each Ad down

Ask for the hook, format and offer in a table, then watch the videos on their library entries to check the first seconds yourself.

Put these Ads in a table with columns for hook, format, offer, run dates and reach. Then tell me which patterns repeat.

What it costs

The six examples on this page took six TikTok Ad searches at 3 credits each and six detail reads at 3 credits each. Ask your Assistant for an estimate first and it quotes the price without charging.

Credits are prepaid at 1,000 credits per US dollar, with no subscription. New accounts get 1,000 credits free, valid for 90 days. A Run that fails costs nothing, and a partial one is charged only for what finished. Every price is on the pricing page.

  • Find TikTok Ads for skincare apps and group them by Advertiser. How many versions of the same text does each one run?
  • Search the TikTok Ad Library for sneaker Ads and show me the ones that reached more than 10K impressions.
  • Read this TikTok Ad's details and tell me who it targets and where the click goes: (paste a library.tiktok.com link)
  • Compare the calls to action on these TikTok Ads and tell me which objective each one uses.

Questions

Where can I find real TikTok ad examples?
In the TikTok Ad Library at library.tiktok.com, which lists Ads shown in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey. Connected to ShortsIntel, Claude or ChatGPT can search it by keyword or Advertiser and read each Ad's details for you.
Can I see which TikTok ads perform best?
Only roughly. The library shows impressions as bands plus the first and last day an Ad was shown. It shows no spend, clicks or sales. An Ad that ran longer and reached a higher band is the better one to study first.
Are US TikTok ads in the library?
No. The TikTok Ad Library covers Ads shown in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey only. A campaign that ran only in the US does not appear.
How do I find the hook of a TikTok ad?
Start with the Ad text the library lists, then watch the video on its library entry for the first seconds. The library does not describe the video, and ShortsIntel analyses TikTok Ads only when an Advertiser Tracker finds them.
How much does it cost to pull TikTok ad examples?
A TikTok Ad search costs 3 credits per page and reading one Ad's details costs 3 credits. New accounts get 1,000 credits free, valid for 90 days. A Run that fails costs nothing, and a partial one is charged only for what finished.
