TikTok has the widest coverage of any Platform on the ShortsIntel MCP server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and your Assistant can search TikTok Videos, look up Creators, Hashtags, Sounds and Keywords, score a Video against its Creator's usual reach, run a Research on a niche, track what changes, and search the TikTok Ad Library.

Below are the TikTok tools and their prices, the limits of the TikTok data, real output from our own account and the connect steps for each Assistant.

What your Assistant can do on TikTok

The server reads public TikTok data: Videos, captions, public counts, public profiles, Hashtag and Sound pages, search results and the TikTok Ad Library. It never logs in to your TikTok account or your ad account.

Your Assistant picks the tools a question needs. Ask which hooks are working for protein powder on TikTok and it can search Videos, get an analysis of the top ones (hook, on-screen text, format, call to action, transcript) and write the answer from what came back.

TikTok is also the only Platform with Sounds and with score_video, which scores any single Video on demand. On other Platforms, Scores come back only on a Creator's recent Videos through get_creator. A Score tells you how far a Video sits above or below its Creator's median views, so you can tell a breakout from an account that always does well.

Data limits

TikTok data limits

  • The TikTok Ad Library covers Ads shown in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey only. Ads that ran only in the US or other markets are not in it.
  • TikTok Ad search takes no country filter and none of the Meta filters (status, kind, media type), and it has no Ad analysis.
  • TikTok Ad Library entries often carry no Advertiser name or spend, only a title, the first and last day shown and an audience band.
  • Hashtag, Keyword and Sound view and engagement stats come from a sample of top Videos, not TikTok's own totals.

What it costs

There is no subscription and no seat fee. Each tool call that does work is a Run, paid from a prepaid Balance of Credits at 1,000 credits per US dollar. New accounts get 1,000 credits free, valid for 90 days. A Run that fails costs nothing, and a partial one is charged only for what finished.

A Video lookup, Hashtag or Keyword costs a few Credits, so you can try the server on TikTok for very little before you run a Research. Every price is on the pricing page.

Connect your Assistant

The server address is the same for every Assistant and every Platform. You sign in to ShortsIntel and choose which organization's Balance pays; no API key is needed.

Claude.ai

Web and desktop. No API key: Claude signs in to ShortsIntel for you.

  1. Open Claude's add connector page with ShortsIntel filled in, and choose Add. Or go to Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, and paste the endpoint below.

  2. Sign in to ShortsIntel, approve the connection and choose the organization whose Balance pays for Runs.
  3. In a chat, turn the ShortsIntel connector on and ask your question.

ChatGPT

Web and desktop, in Developer mode. No API key: ChatGPT signs in over OAuth.

  1. Open ChatGPT's connector settings and switch Developer mode on.
  2. Create a connector named ShortsIntel, paste the endpoint and choose OAuth.

  4. In a new chat, choose the + next to the message box, then Developer mode, and turn ShortsIntel on.

Questions

What is a TikTok MCP server?
It is a tool server an Assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT connects to over the Model Context Protocol. It gives the Assistant tools to search and read TikTok data, such as Videos, Creators, Hashtags, Sounds and TikTok Ads, so it answers from current data instead of its training data.
Can my Assistant search the TikTok Ad Library for US Ads?
No. The TikTok Ad Library only lists Ads shown in the EU/EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Turkey, so US-only Ads are not in it. For Ads that ran in the US, search the Meta Ad Library instead.
What does score_video tell me?
How a Video did against its Creator's recent Videos: the outlier multiple (its views divided by the Creator's median views), views per hour since posting, and its percentile. If no baseline exists yet, the server fetches the Creator's recent Videos to build one.
Does it need my TikTok login?
No. The server reads public TikTok data only and never logs in to your TikTok or TikTok Ads account. You sign in to ShortsIntel, not TikTok.
Which Assistants can use it?
Claude.ai, ChatGPT in Developer mode, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and VS Code. Any other client that can add a remote MCP server over streamable HTTP works too: point it at https://www.shortsintel.com/api/mcp and sign in, or send an API key.
